Position Title: Ground Beef Superintendent
Department: Operations
Location : Greeley, CO Value Added Plant

Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of production for A and B shift operations
Oversee the development of Grind’s departmental leadership
Good understanding of continuous improvement production techniques and use the tools to deliver improved performance.
Make sure products produced in area are of the highest quality
Insure ground beef department profitability by management of costs
Motivation of supervisors and hourly team members
Oversees efficiency of monitoring production, make sheets, product traceability and discussing daily KPIs with Supervisors.
Directing supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
Insure company safety programs are implemented and followed
Monitor and meet departmental budget
Oversee equipment in area to insure it is running correctly
Walk through pre-operational procedures before the start of each shift toensure area is properly sanitized a
Act as a liaison between plant management and supervisors
Monitor supervisors' labor reports for accuracy
Minimize downtime and overtime pay
Run daily meetings for supervisors
Attend and give input at daily plant meetings
Maintains good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions.
Perform annual evaluations for management personnel in area
Directly involved in disciplinary procedures in area. These may range from verbal warnings to terminations
Qualifications:
Good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lead a group
Manage individual employee objectives as well as team performance and building a team approach to problem solving
Requirements:
Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education; A college degree in Business Management or related field or Meat/Food Science is preferred (Experience will be considered in lieu of education)
Experience: 4+ years proven supervisory experience in the food industry/manufacturing; industry-specific experience encouraged
Experience running a high capacity Ground Beef Production Floor
Experience working in a food-manufacturing environment applying common processes, procedures and equipment. Experience managing in a chilled food manufacturing business preferred.
Must have a good understanding of continuous improvement production techniques and use the tools to deliver improved performance.
Knowledge of all operations in the ground beef department
Management Training
Ability to work 50 plus hours a week
Ability to work A and B-Shift
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
Base salary range of $84-113K
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
