Here, you will make an impact by:Consults with leadership team to set medium- to long-term strategic direction and operating plans for a large complex market/manufacturing operation.Interprets industry trends, customer requirements, and business objectives to define guidelines/methods for multiple areas within Package Engineering organizational areas.Develop and implement sourcing strategy, processes, and policies for modes within the region and provide input for strategies globally.Lead supplier contract negotiations, execute competitive bids, manage amendments, and manage rate data processes.Manage supplier relationships creating opportunities for improved cost and quality of goods & services.Comply with 3M Purchasing Controls, Quality Manual, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this Category.Monitors market intelligence and key trends, assesses impact and refines category plans to support business requirementsAnalyze category supplier performance data to find opportunities for supplier performance improvement and to establish continuous improvement goalsActively participates in supplier business reviews with suppliers to ensure both parties meet obligations under the terms of agreement, including performance standards and continuous improvement goalsManages strategic contracts across suppliers, products, and services within category.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited university and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in logisticsFive (5) years of Logistics Sourcing experience in a private, public, government or military environmentFour (4) years of leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environmentFour (4) years of experience working with business groups, operations, or manufacturing locationsORHigh School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in logisticsTen (10) years of Logistics Sourcing experience in a private, public, government or military environmentFour (4) years of leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environmentFour (4) years of experience working with business groups, operations, or manufacturing locationsAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Master's degree in business administration, engineering or logistics and supply chain management from an accredited institutionExcellent verbal and written communicationsAbility and experience effectively interacting at senior executive levelsStrong program management and problem-solving skills, and collaboration across teams, functions, and organizationWork location:Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood)Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: Is not authorized.Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.To comply with these laws, and in conjunction with the review of candidates for those positions within 3M that may present access to export controlled technical data, 3M must assess employees' U.S. person status, as well as citizenship(s).The questions asked in this application are intended to assess this and will be used for evaluation purposes only.
