Job Summary:
The Responsible Sourcing and Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our International Global Buying & Sourcing Offices (GBOs) adheres to responsible and ethical sourcing while partnering with various organizations across TJX U.S., TJX Canada, TJX Europe, TJX Australia to meet regional expectations and regulations as we deliver on TJX's Corporate Responsibility initiatives.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Continuously evaluate and improve the social compliance program at the GBOs to align with our corporate values and legal requirements.Analyze audits to understand risk and identify key social compliance themes to implement training programs to educate GBOs' associates and vendors on TJX social compliance expectations, fostering a culture of responsibility. Point person to support the GBOs in assessing sustainability claims on market goods. Develop and implement strategies, in partnership with the Environmental Sustainability teams across TJX divisions, to support growth in sustainable product.Oversee and guide the GBOs in collecting verifiable sustainable materials reports that adheres to industry standards and regulations.Track GBOs efforts towards TJX sustainable packaging commitment.Provide support to the GBOs in identifying product testing requirements, ensuring compliance to industry standards and regulations.Stay informed about FDA requirements for Food and Cosmetics to support the GBOs' business.Develop and maintain a central repository of audits, assessments, test results, and certificates pertaining to responsible sourcing.Focus on continuous improvement strategies to deliver training programs to educate GBOs' vendors on responsible sourcing to drive TJX initiatives and promote positive change. Continually participate in training as well as industry conferences related to GBOs and TJX business.Assess sustainability tags and claims on market goods to advise the GBOs on substantiation issues.Evaluate product testing requirements to advise the office and protect TJX business. Recommends responsible sourcing programs improvements or changes to other TJX organizations, that will streamline GBOs activities/functions. Special projects as assigned; International travel as needed.1-8 Indirect Reports (exempt) Drive commitment to TJX's Corporate Responsibility initiatives across the Global Buying Offices network which consists of $8 billion in placements.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Required10+ years of industry experienceKnowledge of relevant sustainability certifications and standards such as GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Fair Trade, and GRS to ensure adherence to retail industry best practices.Knowledge of relevant product regulations and industry standards to support Quality Assurance inspections.A genuine passion for creating a positive impact and commitment to ethical practices and social responsibility.Project Management experience (certification preferred).Flexibility and ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously with a proven track record of successful results, and strong follow through skills.Working knowledge of MS Excel.International Travel Required
