The Global EHS Regional Manager LATAM partners with regional operations and support teams to implement, execute and sustain company EHS policies, standards, programs and processes and ensure compliance with applicable local, regional, national and federal EHS regulations, directives and standards. For Brazil specifically, this position requires : A certificate of completion of the Occupational Safety Technician course recognized by the Ministry of Education; A certificate of completion of the Occupational Safety Supervisor course, carried out by the Ministry of Labor;Occupational Safety Supervisor registration, issued by the Labor Secretariat of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security within 180 days of the end of the course referred to in the previous item; andActive registration with the Ministry of Labor (Ministério do Trabalho e Previdência).Demonstrate knowledge of the "NR regulatory standards" (Normas Regulamentadoras do Ministério do Trabalho - NRs) and environmental regulations.
Global Environmental, Health & Safety Regional Manager - LATAM Responsibilities:
Design, develop, implement, execute and sustain the programs, procedures, processes and systems to ensure regional and site-level compliance with EHS law and company EHS strategies, policies or standardsPerform EHS compliance applicability reviews and EHS risk assessments and implement effective programs, procedures, processes and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employees, communities and the environment.Perform frequent site visits, inspections, audits and reviews to identify EHS management gaps, develop corrective measures and implement solutions to sustain compliance with EHS law and company EHS strategies, policies or standards. Leverage lessons learned and implement continuous improvement actions across the region.Provide EHS service, solutions, programs, best practices and technical guidance to business management, support functions, site operations management and site EHS leads to effectively and efficiently manage compliance assurance and EHS risk mitigatioManage EHS incident investigations to determine and implement root cause corrective actions. Leverage lessons learned and implement continuous improvement actions across the regionCollect, measure and analyze regional and site EHS metrics and KPI performances, to discover trends for continuous improvement or corrective measures. Perform management reviews and report on EHS performance and tactical and strategic improvement planningPartner and collaborate with the business and operations management, and support functions, to influence and manage EHS resources and projects and business decisionsDesign, develop, implement, execute and sustain site-level and regional employee safety and injury prevention programs.Manage regulatory agency and external stakeholder EHS activities, including reporting, visits, or inspections.Track and stay current on EHS compliance changes, emerging issues, and best practice trends in the industry and interpret and incorporate changes/updates to EHS programs.Contribute and participate in company EHS strategies, tactical planning and EHS initiatives.Minimum Qualifications:
Degree in environmental, health, safety or relevant scientific or engineering field10+ years' experience in an EHS programs, operations or engineering function.10+ years' experience of applied site and regional EHS compliance management, including regulatory and permitting5+ years' experience managing EHS across multiple sites or multiple geographical regions3+ years' experience in OHSAS18001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISO9001 or similar EHS management systems.Possess tactical and strategic regulatory leadership and direction as well as work well with limited supervision while being responsible for project management, compliance assurance, risk mitigation, injury prevention and environmental management.Prioritize and manage multiple & technically complex assignments concurrently. Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solver, project management skills and strong focus on results.Lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and diverse environment.Work effectively in teams. Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional and positive working relationships.
