What's the role?
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently build, manage, modify, and execute increasingly complex data engineering processes and projects for the conversion and use of external digital sources in the creation and maintenance of the HERE databases and related products. Assume full accountability and ownership to successfully complete these projectsLeverage data engineering technologies like FME, ArcGIS, Python, SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Visio, QGIS and others to transform and integrate increasingly complex data, or create productsAbility to assess and manage risks of complex bulk integration efforts, realizing that as data amounts are high, risks are highProvide GIS and spatial data consultancy, especially focused on bulk source integration effortsParticipate in departmental and cross-functional projects, which will help to increase efficiency, quality and/or reduce costsMaturing engineering and consultancy mindset with focus on value and cost efficiency. Deliver what is needed as end result (not necessarily what was requested at the beginning)Maintain a good understanding of relevant technologies and initiativesDesign and apply technology in strategic and tactical ways to improve GIS Data Engineering processes, tools and scope. Use experience to recommend improvements for existing processesDevelop broad experience of projects and processes, re-engineer new process workflows within the organizationAct with empathy and integrity among inter-departmental peers, so that Data Integration insight and advice reaches targetDetect problems with data-conversion, bulk updates, or the MAP database and act on them

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree, but graduate degree preferred in computer science, geodesy, geography or related field2-4 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experienceDeveloped knowledge of Data Analytics and deep experience with spatial tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, FME or similarModern GIS technologies (Cloud technologies, webservices and big data)Experience with data manipulation and transformation stored in different DB such as Oracle, FGDB and Postgres (FME)Expertise in script language like SQL, Postgres and Python and ability to learn other script languagesAbility to customize solutions outside of off-the-shelf tools. Demonstrated problem solving and thinking creativelyUnderstanding and ability to write into formats such as Oracle, GeoJSON, LRP, FGDBExperience with relational databases and HERE database and products preferredExperience with GitLabExperience with AWS Solution ArchitectureDeveloping on AWS knowledge (services such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, etc)Experience with deploying applications in AWSDeveloped organizational and multi-tasking ability with ability to function in a team environmentChallenger mindsetPunctual, independent worker, ability to work under time-pressure, excellent personal time management skills English, other languages preferred
