Summary This position is located in the Administrative Programs Branch of the Central Federal Lands Highway Division. The incumbent manages directly or through subordinates, a supply store, the equipment program, property utilization and disposal program, the deployment, maintenance and repair program for trailers and the GSA Fleet program. Responsibilities As a General Supply Specialist, you will: Arrange acquisition of vehicles from GSA, document assignments of vehicles, transport as necessary to field locations, arrange for installation of additional equipment. Be responsible for ensuring that property and equipment management work is carried out effectively and efficiently by distributing and balancing workload among employees; monitoring the status and progress of work; instructing employees in specific tasks and work methodologies; and providing training and oversight. Prepare annual budget projection for all depot functions. The ideal candidate for this position is a senior-level supply specialist with experience in the administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work; leading others in the exercise of their daily duties; communicating responsibly with internal and external customers; as well as a general knowledge of budgetary concepts. Recommended experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field; experience using computer and automation systems. For the GS-12: You must have at least one year of specialized experience, equal or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which included: Experience managing an inventory of complex technical special purpose equipment which may involve researching and screening surplus property declarations to provide sources of supply for inventory and special equipment items; AND Experience preparing budget projections and monitoring expenditures to ensure they do not exceed approved fund allotments.
