C.H. Robinson is seeking a General Manager, Distribution Center to join our team. In this role your primary goal will be to create a thriving, safe, and efficient 1.2M square foot distribution center with approximately 300+ employees.
Managing financial, operational, and service-related objectives, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs, overseeing a budget of $2-5 million. Your focus will be on maximizing productivity and expenses while working ethically and modeling C.H. Robinson's core values by ensuring the distribution center is optimally organized to provide excellent service levels to our customers and to provide on time and damage free delivery.
As the General Manager, you'll spearhead critical aspects of our operation, including security, inventory control, quality control, maintenance, and customer relations, ensuring every facet operates seamlessly and optimally. Responsibilities:
Establish and drive the Distribution Center's vision, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standardsOversee and manage receiving, shipping, inventory, and production crews, ensuring efficient, accurate, and professional operationsLead continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving quality, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.Manage customer service, address concerns promptly, and meet service-related KPIsDevelop, monitor, and revise key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial, productivity, service, and personnel goals to control costs and enhance efficiencyPrepare annual budgets, revenue projections, and P&L control, overseeing equipment maintenance and safety protocolsImplement and enforce safety, sanitation, and compliance standards, including HAACP, OSHA, and Food Safety protocolsMonitor and maintain facility compliance, manage building requirements, and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs)Oversee supplies procurement, monitor inventory, and drive process improvements through root cause analysisDevelop and implement staffing models, manage personnel issues, and cultivate leadership skills among distribution management staffPartner with Talent Acquisition to recruit, select, onboard, and support long-term growth of diverse talentLead annual merit and equity programs, ensuring compensation alignment with performanceFoster a culture of open communication, inclusivity, continuous improvement, and employee growth through feedback channels and action plansReview and enhance employee engagement measures, fostering a collaborative and engaged team culture
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience in a high volume or fast-paced warehouse, distribution center, and/or manufacturing operations environmentMinimum 4 years of experience leading and managing team(s)Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate financial metrics, including P&L, budgeting (adherence and development), and metric reportingStrong knowledge of Distribution Center practices and procedures, including OSHA, HAACP, and GMPManual dexterity required for operating machineryAbility to occasionally lift up to 50lbsAbility to work all day in an ambient temperature environmentHigh School Diploma or GED
