Vertical Mills Operator
Summary:
The Vertical Mills Operator (V-Mills) is responsible for operatingV-Mills CNC machines to produce quality parts for Masters Machinecustomers, reading and interpreting blueprints, planning sheets,sketches, and other related technical data to determine toolingrequirements, setup procedures, control settings and machining methods.The V-Mills Operator follows all established safety guidelines and isresponsible for general preventative maintenance and communicating anymaintenance needs to the Cell Manager and is professional, respectful,courteous & friendly to all fellow employees, Supervisors & Managers atMasters Machine. The V-Mills Operator reports to the V-Mills DepartmentCell Manager
Responsibilities:
[]{#_Hlk133321046}Maintain a clean and safe work area
Mandatory eyewear protection must be worn at all times
Responsible for producing quality product efficiently
Ensure that Masters customers continue to receive the highest qualityparts by following standards and paying attention to details from startto finish.
Cleaning machine, tooling, and parts
Conducting daily maintenance checks, including coolant monitoring
Starting machine monitoring displays and machine operations to detectmalfunctions
Selecting and installing cutting tools in machine spindles
Stopping machine to replace cutting tools and setup according torequired machining sequences or to measure parts for conformance toblueprint specifications using precision measuring instruments
Transferring programs to machine
Entering commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base
Entering commands or manually adjusting the machine controls to correctmalfunctions or out of tolerance machining
Setting up machines or machining centers to perform various machinefunctions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring orroaching metal parts, and grinding utilizing knowledge of machine toolcapabilities, machine ability of materials and shop math
Operating machine manual to perform non-automatic functions whenautomatic programming is faulty or the machine malfunctions
Mounting, aligning, and securing tooling attachments and parts onmachine
Calculating and setting machine controls to position spindle inrelationship to part and regulating factors such as cutting depth,speed, feed, and coolant flow

advance
Work in a safe & orderly manner, promptly reporting personal injuries &unsafe conditions to a Safety Team Member or Production Managerdepending on severity of the condition,
Be concerned for the safety of others and work together improving safety
Protect & maintain equipment & materials from damage and loss
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude
Strong shop math skills
Specific machine knowledge gained through on the job training by atrainer and/or specific machine training course is desired
Working knowledge of precision components industry
5 years or more experience in the field
Ability to work independently and with a team
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularlyrequired to stand for several hours and lift or move up to 50lbs. Theemployee must have the ability to read, listen and communicateeffectively in English both verbally and in writing as well as hearingand visual ability to observe and detect signs of an emergencysituation.
