Job Summary:
Vighter is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician to join our dynamic healthcare team and make a significant impact on the well-being of the veteran community at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to provide exceptional care in the field of gastroenterology. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative team dedicated to advancing patient health.

Principle Accountabilities:
Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to, Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and sigmoidoscopies with precision and expertise.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
Stay current on advancements in gastroenterology through continuous learning and professional development.
Provide patient education on preventive measures and lifestyle modifications to enhance gastrointestinal health.
Provide excellent patient care.
Create and recommend treatment plans.
Take patient medical histories.
Update patient information and charts with the latest findings and treatments.
Order tests for health care staff to administer.
Review and interpret test results.
Respond to questions and concerns from patients about their health care and well-being.
Work with various medical staff such as an anesthesiologist, surgeons, and nurses to provide patient care.
Qualifications:
United States Citizenship.
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
