Job Description
Intel Automotive is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Functional Safety Engineering team. This internship offers valuable experience in safety-critical systems and exposure to industry standards such as ISO 26262.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist in conducting safety analyses including FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) under the guidance of senior engineers.
Support the development and documentation of safety requirements and specifications.
Participate in software and hardware safety architecture reviews and contribute to design discussions.
Assist in the verification and validation of safety-critical systems and components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and methodologies within the organization.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
SW development-related projects and or experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in Functional Safety, with coursework or projects related to safety-critical systems
Basic understanding of safety standards such as ISO 26262
Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, Washington DC, California: $40,000.00-$108,000.00 (Hourly Role)
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
Working Model
This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
