As Forging and Raw Material Buyer, within the Avio Aero's Supply Chain team and directly reporting to the Commodity Leader, you will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. You will apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. In this role, you will have knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others, and you will be aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Essential Responsibilities
Manage the sourcing process, from evaluation of requestor's requirements to PO placementUnderstand the Materials Commodity needs based on the Commodity Strategy and define SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) matrix in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing team and Technical ExpertSupport the strategy and robustness definition and execution for the specific set of goods within the Materials CommodityManage Supplier with the aim to strength relationship with strategic suppliers and create action plan for critical suppliers, in collaboration with strategic teamPerform spent analysis for the given set of goods within Materials commodity and with reference to the Operational Plan and Strategy goals (including deflation, costout, days to pay)Apply cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizationsNegotiate PO and purchase contracts, following applicable company and government regulationsBalance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projectsBuild a strong relationship with GE Aerospace Sourcing Team to collaborate and share opportunitiesWork in collaboration with Supplier Quality Teams and Procurement team to meet established goal of OTD, span, delinquency and vendor recoveryIn performing your activities, it will be mandatory for you to maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with supply base and internal customers
Qualification/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry/Material Science or Economic field from an accredited university or collegePrevious experience in Buying-Procurement or Manufacturing/Quality or Program Management/SourcingPrevious experience in supplier managementProven analytical and problem solving skills, with sound judgment and a diplomatic attitudeAbility to communicate effectively in oral and written formAbility to handle several activities simultaneously, manage multiple priorities and resolve appropriatelyProficient in MS Office (e.g. Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)Highly motivated team memberProactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomyFluent in Italian and English languageWork Visa and Italian citizenship, in accordance with local regulation, is required
