Description:
Manages the QA Techs and SQF coordinator
Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
Oversees quality processes and documentation
Ensure compliance with antibiotic testing of all incoming raw milk.
Sensory evaluation of products during and at end of Shelf-Life.
Allergen testing of equipment and products where appropriate.
Maintain proper inventory of all laboratory items and supplies. Order supplies as needed.
Maintain all proper documentation and records associated with responsibilities.
Coordinate with third-party laboratories as appropriate for sampling and testing necessary
Maintain all documented information as per SQF requirements.
Maintain laboratory as needed with regular cleaning.
Must follow all proper Good Manufacturing Practices.
revision/creation of SOPs
May help QA Techs and SQF coordinator with the following:
Microbiological testing as appropriate for raw materials, work in process, and finished products including: SPC, PI, TPC, Coliform, and Yeast/Mold.
Equipment pre-operational inspection including ATP swabbing.
Air quality monitoring within the facility.
Water quality monitoring within the facility for Coliform and TPC.
Environmental pathogen swabbing within the facility.
Requirements
MUST be local to Reno or willing to relocate (can provide relocation assistance if needed!)
Minimum 5 years of experience working in a food laboratory environment (dairy/milk laboratory experience is preferred)
Minimum 3 years managerial experience in Food Safety/Quality
Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or other related field (preferred).
Knowledgeable of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s)
Strong understanding of microbiology (experience with microbiological testing)
Sensory experience (dairy products preferred).
Troubleshoot and repair lab equipment as necessary.
FDA Appendix N Antibiotic Trained (preferred).
HACCP
Good Laboratory Practices including Aseptic Sampling Techniques Trained
