Plant Controller
About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Plant Controller to play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our plant. You will be responsible for providing insightful financial data to management, ensuring compliance with company policies, and offering strategic financial guidance.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Budgeting:
Develop and manage the annual operating budget, IBP process, forecasts, and strategic plans.
Collaborate with plant and senior leadership on operational strategies and cost control measures.
Lead the recruitment, training, and development of your direct reports, fostering a positive work environment for their career growth.
Spearhead special projects related to business initiatives, such as exploring new opportunities.
Maintain and update the Risk Management Contingency Plan.
Reporting and Analysis:
Ensure accurate and timely completion of the month-end close process.
Prepare and track all plant capital project information.
Implement daily and weekly operational controls aligned with plant management needs.
Partner with plant management to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Analyze and document variances from established standards, recommending corrective actions as needed.
Conduct monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation to sub-ledgers.
Participate in year-end audits.
Financial Services:
Establish and maintain a robust internal control system.
Verify the completeness and accuracy of production transactions.
Oversee payroll and accounts payable processing, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
Contribute to the development of capital expenditure plans (Capex).
Compliance and Controls:
Manage financial and administrative functions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Conduct fixed asset counts.
Manage departmental expenses to stay within budget.
Ensure financial records comply with regulatory agency standards.
Human Resources and Customer Service:
Adhere to HR policies and procedures, and relevant employment laws.
Ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety policies and training programs.
Respond promptly to internal inquiries.
Other duties as assigned. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing accounting.
Strong proficiency in PC applications (MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
In-depth knowledge of Cost Accounting principles.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
AS400 (IBM iSeries) experience preferred.
Experience in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Experience in various areas of general accounting, with emphasis on accounts payable, inventory, controls, reporting, and variance analysis.
