This role will report to the Chief Test Pilot for Boeing Test & Evaluation UK and work closely with Boeing Safety Team members and adjacent organisation regulatory and safety focals. The incumbent will undertake development and in-service regulation and safety activities, predominantly in support of the UK flying organisation, but will additionally interact with wider Boeing teams. This role is well suited to candidates with either aircrew, engineering or quality-based experience.
Lead the Regulatory Compliance and Quality activities, this includes:
Lead significant Regulation-related activities for the Flying Organization, harnessing the team's expertise as applicable.Assist the Air System Safety Case team to manage existing and developing platform Air System Safety Cases.Co-ordinate the Boeing Test & Evaluation UK response to Regulation updates across multiple aircraft types.Propose solutions to Regulatory updates that meet the "One Boeing" expectations and optimize the company's safety, efficiency and simplicity approaches.Maintain the Flying Organization formal document suite in accordance with Regulatory and programme requirementsChampion Boeing's Total Quality approach, providing guidance to team members where required.Review and develop updated quality metrics as programme scope changes.Propose regulatory changes where industry experience and global practices can improve the local regulatory environment.Co-ordinate the team's ongoing activities to ensure perpetual readiness for 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audits, including by regulatory bodies and quality auditors.Monitor drumbeat team activities for compliance with the Boeing Total Quality approach and with UK military regulatory expectations for audit trails of decisions made.Improve tools and systems to enable maximum efficacy in the duties of this role and for other staff working towards similar aims.Work closely with equivalent roles in other parts of Boeing, maintaining alignment and a consistent approach to common topics. Support wider Boeing regulatory activities, especially regarding EASA, CAA and other regulatory environments
Required competencies:
Experience in managing organizational approvals or document sets within a changing regulatory landscape.Demonstrate the ability to lead on the planning of work, and develop/use meaningful metrics to evaluate status and provide performance visibility.Ability to effectively identify and execute opportunities to improve strategies, processes and project plans.Ability to identify help-needed and coordinate with the appropriate leaders and team members.The candidate must possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to use common IT and project management concepts/tools.The role will have significant UK MoD customer, supplier and wider Boeing interfaces and therefore a person who is diplomatic whilst being strong minded is essential.
Preferred competencies:
10 years' experience of, or in, both UK military and civil regulatory regimes.Formal auditor/evaluation training/experience.Experience in working within a Safety Management System.
Some UK and global travel are expected, with some travel to other global sites.
