Description:
planning and implementing the objectives of the Fleet Maintenance Department
planning, organizing and supervising the general day-to-day operation analyzing the workload, determining priorities and staffing capabilities and distributing work
driving improvements, analyzing department reports
executing and administering Publix’ policies, procedures and guidelines
ensuring compliance to federal, state, and local regulations
developing maintenance associates, including conducting/coordinating training, skills assessment, and performance evaluations
identifying and resolving problems
communicating with other departments and customers to ensure customer satisfaction
participating on project teams and/or managing segments of business areas capital projects and
responding to unplanned situations.

Required Qualifications:
be at least 18 years old
have a High School Diploma, its equivalent, or at least one of the following:
vocational /trade school maintenance training courses
military fleet maintenance experience and/or
completion of a maintenance apprenticeship program.
have experience managing in a maintenance environment and knowledge of computerized Maintenance management systems
have working knowledge of all processes and related equipment
have strong analytical, problem solving, trouble-shooting and hands-on technical skills
be able to read and comprehend schematic diagrams, equipment specifications, parts and technical manuals
be able to examine and interpret information from different sources to develop a course of action
have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to effectively convey information to supervisors, associates, customers or outside agencies
have good presentation skills and the ability to develop training material
have good computer skills, proficiency in MS Windows, Word and Excel
be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
be a positive role model
not have an unacceptable drug test result on a Publix or company-sponsored drug test within the previous 12 months
be able to work the required schedule, be on call and travel
successfully pass a battery of written tests and a structured interview
have the ability to work well with others and be a team member
show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and
show commitment to Publix’s mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Business discipline.
Five years in fleet maintenance supervision with project management skills
