OVERVIEWUES and Eqlipse Company. has an immediate opening for a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support the Flash and Laser Airborne Protection Systems (FLAPS) program. This position will be located at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate's Photonic Materials Branch, based at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH.
The FLAPS program involves developing aircrew eye protection to mitigate visual hazards, like flash blindness and laser glare, to ensure effective performance in a contested environment. Technology development encompasses both static and dynamic advanced filtering technologies across multiple wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in overseeing projects, ensuring streamlined operations, and fostering a collaborative work environment. This role demands exceptional communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely, fostering effective collaboration across diverse organizational groups.
WHAT YOU WILL DOLead and coordinate dynamic teams to advance technology in aircrew eye protection.Oversee schedules, deliverables, and reporting to ensure successful program execution.Conduct technical interchange meetings, track action items, and facilitate communication among stakeholders.Manage daily coordination of the program, collaborating with government customers, UES staff, and technical support subcontractors.Provide proactive support to program customers to ensure both technical advancement and customer satisfaction.Address transition considerations such as pilot acceptance, cockpit compatibility, and support after deployment.WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL BRINGExhibit high organizational and managerial expertise, efficiently coordinating multifaceted tasks, managing competing priorities, and successfully leading teams.Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication tailored to various audiences, including engineers, financial professionals, contract specialists, government program managers, and other stakeholders.Proven success in supporting Air Force or other DoD programs.Bachelors' Degree or Equivalent experience.5-8 years of program management experience.Background in optics, engineering, or system integration.CLEARANCESecret
