Role Summary:
As a Fixed Income Trading Analyst in our New York office, you will be working closely with Fixed Income Traders on a variety of tasks including creating new issue deals, booking trades, and supporting the day-to-day activities of the FI trading desk. In addition, you will collaborate and communicate with Portfolio Managers and Analysts as well as Investment Operations and other teams involved in the Fixed Income investment process. You will have the opportunity to execute trades under the supervision of senior traders as well as work with traders on desk-related projects and analytical tasks.

You will be responsible for trading activities within the assigned desk, such as:
Manages/executes short-term cash trades for tax-exempt funds and certain institutional accounts. Independently invests cash from an approved list of securities, as appropriate. Analyzes buy/sell transactions within the funds and raises cash as needed. Actively looks for opportunities to invest cash in approved short-dated bonds/notes.Recommends new short-term credit issuers to short-term credit groups for research and approval. Trades short-term hard puts. Independently researches, determines, and executes trades. Analyzes and executes to-be-announced (TBA) trades. Proactively identifies TBA pair-offs where there are offsetting buys and sells with different dealers, and links the trades in an ETP (electronic trading platform). Analyzes factors related to outstanding TBAs and highlights to portfolio managers and traders of possible issues. Supports fixed-income traders with trading activities, such as: Organizes and books trades by verifying final price and broker information. Enters data into the trading system, as needed. Calculates trade allocations and ratios, submits requests for orders, and books trades in Raptor system Manages bid-wanted list, confirms with portfolio managers, and executes sell trades under the supervision of a senior trader. Generates and distributes daily and monthly trading reports. Creates ad hoc reports for traders as requested. Informs analysts and portfolio managers of the pricing of new and secondary issues. Assists with obtaining prospectuses and Trustee Reports for private placements. Liaises with asset set-up team to ensure accurate set-up of new bonds into appropriate systems. Provides ongoing and ad hoc market research and information to the Fixed Income Investment Group and proactively engages in investment discussions.Stays abreast of related market activity. Gathers up-to-date information from traders, portfolio managers, and external brokers. Identifies and shares investment info and ideas to traders and portfolio managers Analyzes market flows to help optimize trading strategies Builds tools to monitor and analyze trading activity.
Skills/Qualifications:
2+ Years of experience working as a Trading Assistant or similar functionExperience and knowledge of Fixed Income markets (Credit, Securitized Products, or Municipals)Strong technical skillsDemonstrated intellectual curiosity as it relates to trading and marketsCoding experience is a plusExperience with Aladdin is a plus
New York Base Salary Range: $104,972-$167,955
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
