About FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN)

  Summary You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAVAL AIR STATION FALLON. Pay Range for GS-07: $49,146 - $63,892 Pay Range for GS-06: $44,227 - $57,496 Responsibilities You will administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillation (AED) for a patient. You will operate firefighting equipment (e.g., pumps, foam generators, boom, ground sweep nozzles) to control or eliminate fires. You will establish on-scene control procedures (e.g., zone control, decontamination) in a hazardous material incident. You will position firefighting vehicles in consideration of external factors (e.g., wind direction, sources of water, hazards from falling structures, location of armament on aircraft). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. Required Certifications: Firefighter I and II, HAZMAT - Awareness and Operations, and Apparatus Driver/Operator - Pumper, and Airport Firefighter. NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION. GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Required Certifications: Firefighter I and II, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), HAZMAT - Technician, Apparatus Driver/Operator - Pumper, Airport Firefighter, ARFF Driver Operator, and Aerial Driver Operator.
