Position : Fire Protection Designer

Job Description:
Design and layout fire sprinkler systems using specialized design software packages. (Autosprink, Hydracad)
Perform hydraulic calculations, Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components.
Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications and contracts
Work closely with the contracting team to understand the contract with the customer, the scheduling of the design process, and the delivery needs of the installation crew.
Coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to meet the optimum installation start date.
Read and interpret construction documents including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Design and layout sprinkler systems.
Perform field checks of completed system designs. Communicate with AHJs, contractors, and other trades.
Create material stock listings, analyze changes, and solve problems.
Responsibilities:
Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features.
Perform field checks on completed design to verify accuracy.
Read and interpret construction documents including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Design and layout sprinkler systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficient in Autosprink/Cad, Outlook, MS Office.
Desire and ability to work towards achieving NICET certifications
Familiar with reading and understanding construction documents, including bid forms, plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders and general agreements.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically Outlook and Excel.
Must have the willingness to be a team player.
