SMX is seeking a dynamic individual to take on a dual role as a Project Manager and FinOps Professional . In this position, you will be instrumental in overseeing and delivering complex programs while also ensuring optimal cloud financial controls and cost optimization. This unique opportunity requires a candidate who can effectively balance strategic program management with the intricacies of FinOps. This is a remote position supporting a Herndon, VA based team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Management:
Develop and implement program strategies and plans in alignment with the organization's priorities
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization from ideation to execution of program activities and initiatives
Foster relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Manage program budgets, allocate resources, and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility
Lead program execution by coordinating cross-functional teams and subject matter experts
Monitor and track program progress, evaluate outcomes and make necessary adjustments to achieve program goals
Monitor and report on risk factors that may impact program delivery
Prepare and deliver regular reports metrics to leadership and other stakeholders on program status, achievements, and challenges
Build cross-functional processes targeting key business outcomes and work across Product, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and more
FinOps:
Generate cost optimization recommendations and collaborate with internal operations, engineering, and finance personnel, external partner personnel, and clients to optimize budgets and increase operational efficiency at scale
Supporting the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of third-party contracts with the business and financial interests of the organization in mind
Maintains current knowledge of relevant Cloud resell programs, optimization, regulations, policies, and procedures
Work with Partner Managers to ensure partner program compliance
Required Skills/Experience:
General:
Bachelor's Degree Business, Accounting, Mathematics or Finance or 5+ years combined experience in Technical Program Management and Cloud Financial Analysis
Strong leadership skills required
Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships.
Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
Program Management:
Experience with metric generation and KPI tracking
Demonstrates expertise in one or more software development methodologies (Agile or Waterfall)
Extensive Project Management tools experience (Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project, Asana, ZenHub, etc.)
Experience managing day-to-day interactions with cross-functional team
Strong project management skills developing and managing the full project lifecycle
FinOps:
Experience in multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
Experience using CSEM tool, CloudHealth
Understanding the use and benefit of different cost optimization and savings plans
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze large data sets, create financial models and simplify complex data
Ability to obtain secret clearance
Desired Skills/Experience:
Program Management: Metric generation, Agile/Waterfall expertise, Project Management tools.
Certifications: PMP or CSM, BI reporting capabilities.
Technical Proficiency: Jira/Confluence, GraphQL API, JSON, PowerBI, MicroStrategy, and/or Tableau.
