Hartford Funds is seeking an individual to join the Fund Treasury's Financial Reporting team. The Financial Reporting Analyst will work closely with other operational units of Hartford Funds to play a key role in the preparation of annual, semi-annual and quarterly financial statements for registered investment companies, as well as the monthly regulatory reporting requirements. The position provides support to senior team members and managers in connection with the preparation and review of required regulatory reporting. This role would also require the completion of various projects as assigned. This individual will be responsible for reviewing mutual funds' and exchange traded funds' quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements, including review of Forms N-CSR, 24f-2, N-PORT and CEN and all related financial statement disclosures and accounting matters. Additionally, this individual may be involved in the creation and review of Tailored Shareholder Reports and other fund work prepared by the accounting agent, as needed.
The responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to some or all of the following:
Review of fund financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Regulation S-XAssist with the preparation of financial statements and notes to be included in regulatory filingsReview of Form N-CSR, 24f-2, N-PORT and N-CEN in our regulatory filingsWorking with the funds' external auditors to support the completion of annual auditsAssist with research and analysis of technical accounting issues affecting the fundsMonitoring the development and implementation of new accounting standards and relevant interpretationsMaintain and develop, as appropriate, controls, systems, policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirementsAssist in the oversight and coordination of the funds' SOX compliance effortsInterface with internal and external auditors for quarterly reviews, annual audits, controls testing for SOX compliance and other related inquiriesMay also participate in special projects, as needed, including process improvement initiatives, review of new regulatory reporting filings, systems implementations, fund mergers, etc.
Position Requirements
BA/BS degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or business-related field3-5 years of financial reporting or audit experiencePublic accounting experience in the asset management industry is preferredSelf-starter with a proactive work ethicMicrosoft Excel and Word proficiency requiredStrong organizational skillsAbility to research and formulate a viewAdaptable/flexible; open to changeProblem solving skillsSound communication and interpersonal skillsTeam player with the ability to be effective working independentlySupport team leader/manager on team projects
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$75,000 - $100,000
