The Finance & Strategy (F&S) team serves as a trusted adviser to the business to help guide decision-making through business partner support and innovative and insightful analyses. The F&S Data team is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting the team's end to end monthly data refresh process and maintaining robust process governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of our organization's data assets. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data manipulation and visualization, and a passion for uncovering meaningful trends and patterns within complex datasets. They should also have deep understanding of data management principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting a culture of data stewardship and accountability. The candidate will also play a vital role in large transformational data projects within Salesforce's finance organization, necessitating a solid understanding of finance operations and their underlying principles. The role would serve as a Data SME to certain F&S functions and is integral to Salesforce's pursuit of excellence in finance, emphasizing both technical capability and a strategic understanding of business processes.
Responsibilities:
Intake business changes to metadata and mapping required in order to achieve business needs.Able to understand and translate business requirements into effective data mapping solutions. A clear understanding of the business processes and data dependencies is crucial. Collaborate with partners to define data quality standards and metrics, and establish mechanisms for ongoing monitoring and improvement. Serve as the Data SME for Customer Success and Corporate Revenue teams and Maintain data mapping files to support these functions. Play a key role on various, data-related, large-scale transformation projects (e.g. Cloud ERP system transition, chart of accounts consolidation/rationalization, centralizing mapping within CFO organization, etc.) Analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights. Interpret data trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide valuable business intelligence.Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into a usable format. Ensure data quality and accuracy, resolving discrepancies as needed.Support weekly, monthly and quarterly audit checks to ensure data mapping files are aligned to the Corporate functional targets.Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to support decision-making processes. Collaborate with partners to understand reporting requirements and deliver insights in a timely manner.Provide support to develop communication strategies to raise awareness of data governance initiatives within F&S. Deliver training and support to partners to enhance their understanding of data governance principles and practices. Lead creative ideas for improving current processes; build automations as needed or partner with other technical teams to provide requirements.Effectively partner with other governing bodies across Salesforce to ensure policies / processes are aligned.Drive resolution where business requests are in direct violation of our governances / processes.Familiar with creating visualizations and dashboards to communicate complex data insights to non-technical partners. Use tools like Tableau or others to present information in a clear and accessible manner. Prior knowledge and/or experience with Tableau would be a bonus.Use MS Excel, Hyperion Essbase, Tableau and other financial systems and tools to locate, extract, manipulate, and analyze data. Develop an in-depth understanding of the Finance & Strategy (F&S) organization, it's financial processes, and how it's operations are ultimately reflected in the Chart of Accounts (COA) and Business dimensions.
Minimum Requirements
Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on theValues & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)2-3+ years work experience in FP&A, Accounting, Consulting, Operations, or Data preferably at a public company with experience in data analytics, curation and validationAbility to manage multiple projects and processes in a fast paced, dynamic environment with competing prioritiesExperience with multi-dimensional databases, e.g. Hyperion, Workday or other financial systemsMedium to advanced skills in ExcelStellar problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, business partners, and technical communitiesHighly motivated, proactive, self-aware, collaborative, flexible, responsive, positive and fun
