What you will be doing
As a Senior Financial Analyst specializing in the pharmaceutical industry, you will play a crucial role in driving financial decision-making and providing strategic insights specifically related to sourcing activities for branded and generic pharmaceuticals. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Finance, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other departments to optimize cost structures and support organizational goals within the pharmaceutical sector.
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis specific to the pharmaceutical industry to support strategic decision-making related to global sourcing initiatives.Develop detailed financial models, forecasts, and business cases tailored to evaluate potential opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvement within this specialized market.Collaborate with senior leaders within the pharmaceutical sector in developing annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts for global sourcing operations.Monitor performance against targets, identify variances specific to pharmaceuticals, and provide actionable recommendations aimed at continuous improvement.Provide valuable insights into market trends unique to the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory changes, competitive landscapes, industry benchmarks, and emerging developments that impact sourcing finance decisions globally.Stay updated with relevant macroeconomic factors affecting the pharmaceutical market.Identify potential risks associated with global sourcing activities specifically within the pharmaceutical sector such as currency fluctuations, tariffs, supply chain disruptions or regulatory changes that are specific to this industry.Develop risk mitigation strategies tailored for pharmaceutical organizations to ensure continuity of supply at optimal costs.Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders including senior leaders across various functions (e.g., Global Sourcing, Supply Chain) within the pharmaceutical industry itself to understand their specific needs related to global sourcing finance within this specialized field.Provide proactive financial guidance that supports their decision-making processes.Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) specifically relevant to the pharmaceutical sector for measuring the effectiveness of global sourcing initiatives in achieving cost savings objectives unique to this industry.Prepare regular reports summarizing financial results specific to Pharmaceuticals along with variance analysis and key insights for senior leadership review.Continuously assess existing financial processes related to global sourcing finance activities within the context of the pharmaceutical industry; identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency enhancements or automation opportunities tailored specifically for this field.Support special projects as assigned by senior management related to strategic initiatives involving global sourcing finance exclusively within the pharmaceutical domain.
What your background should look like
Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field; MBA preferred. Normally requires a minimum of 5 years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
