Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst supports the finance function of the academic practice, with a primary focus on the preparation of the monthly chair packages that are submitted to RWJBH Financial Management team, in addition to assisting with the monthly financial close.
Under the direction of the Manager of Affiliate Contracts, is responsible for the analysis of budgeted projects including affiliate agreements. Assists in the contracting processes as it relates to billing and collecting. Coordinate activities to reconcile billing, collections, accounts receivables and faculty time and effort in accordance with University policy and federal mandated regulations. Assists with special projects such as the development of financial plans and fair market value analysis.
Job Duties:
Oversight of Budgeted Projects (Chair Packages, Contracts and Affiliate Agreement).
Oversees the monthly billing process for assigned projects.
Prepare scheduled and ad hoc reconciliation reports for the Manager of Affiliate Contracts or other relevant stakeholders.
Communicate any discrepancies or missing documentation to the Manager of Affiliate Contracts or other relevant stakeholders.
Prepares and uploads Journal Entries for correctional purposes upon direction.
Develops reports and analyses to support billing and accounts receivable or payable activity.
Contributes to the development of the annual budget for Affiliate Agreements or other projects.
Develop relationships with affiliate colleagues or external stakeholders (i.e., RWJ Barnabas Health).
Monitors proper and accurate administration of account funds, provide statistics and other information for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Conducts monthly analysis of budget and expense activity.
Researches, resolves, and follows up on discrepancies between the appropriate units of the University (Procurement, Payroll).
Analyzes data and prepares internal financial reports consistent with a basic understanding of the agreement/budget.
Assists in a variety of project requests in the areas of business planning that include financial analysis in the form of pro forma financial projects and other financial modeling activities.
Serves as communications liaison regarding all changes in Affiliate agreements.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field plus three (3) years of relevant experience in related fiscal activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required.
Demonstrated capability of handling confidential and sensitive material and interactions. Outstanding human relations skills, and the ability to function in a team environment are required.
Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
