Responsibilities
General Purpose:
The financial analyst will support the Operating SMH Finance team. This position will perform monthly financial analyses and reconciliations to assist with the monthly financial reporting as well as responsible for working with departments on their operating budgets. The person filling this role will work with a variety of departments in processing staffing request forms as well as identifying monthly variances between actuals and budgets. .
Responsibilities:
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analyses and reconciliations to ascertain integrity of accounting data, account balances and timeliness of reporting. Make day to day interpretations and decisions on the accounting treatment of financial transactions. Responsible for many monthly journal entries in UR Financials, including high dollar adjustments that are often discussed at P&L meeting with CFO. Manage monthly variance reporting, attestation and trends review processes. Raise issues to department leadership and propose necessary adjustments.
Review annual operating budgets for clinical and non-clinical departments, working directly with program administrators in preparation for budget hearings with Medical Center Sr. Leadership. Includes reviewing departmental business improvement plans, budget/FTE modification preparation and budget spread methodologies.
SMH Finance inbox support – review and approve personnel action forms, including change, faculty and extra compensation forms. Process includes comparing FTE changes to authorized levels on manpower reports for all Hospital departments, following up with program administrators to remedy as necessary.
Coordinate bi-annual physical inventory counts for SMH Departments. Review and verify submissions for completeness and accuracy. Prepare adjusting journal entry and provide analyses of major variances from prior count.
Coordinate support and is main contact for annual external audit requests. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with auditors. Ensure required schedules are available for auditors prior to beginning of audit fieldwork. Complete various audit workpapers and providing University Finance schedules for inclusion in University's audited statements.
Coordinate and complete various external surveys, including AHA and COTH.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required
Highly organized, keen attention to detail, team-oriented, strong reconciliation and analytical skills required

Pay Range
Pay Range: $58,800 - $82,300 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
