Financial Accountant
Job location: Tokyo, Japan
As a member of the Finance team reporting to the Finance Manager is responsible for assisting with the month end close at the corporate level. This role will also be responsible for the accounting of a subsidiary. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with your colleagues and help support a high-growth, multi-entity, and global business.
Reporting to Finance Manager, this role is responsible for daily accounts receivable and payable operations as well as assisting payroll and month-end close processes. This role will also be responsible for supporting tax filing by providing ongoing support and backup.
Perform daily accounts receivable operations (customer registration, billing, payment receipts).
Perform daily accounts payable operations (vendor registration, vendor bill, payments).
Process employees’ expense reimbursements
Assist Sr. Financial Accountant for payroll (updating employee information in payroll system and non-recurring items, payroll-related payments including taxes, reconciliation between pay registers to GL)
Assist Sr. Accountant for month-end close processes
Assist corporate tax filings and tax payments
Other ad-hoc requests as required
Recommend and implement process improvements where identified
1-3 year experience in general accounting and month end close procedures
Team player with excellent communication skills with other departments
Able to work independently and consistently to achieve timely reporting and supports to the Sr. Financial Accountant and Accounting Manager
Proven time management skills and ability to multitask effectively
Experience with NetSuite, Concur and internet banking considered an asset
Native level Japanese, Conversational level English
Flexible and adaptable to changes
Proficient in Excel
