Position Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific has an excellent opportunity for a result driven qualified accountant to join the Global Business Services finance team based in Paisley. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly growing centre of excellence in an organisation considered a global leader in its field. The centre covers entities with an annual revenue of approximately $6 Billion and supports the Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG), Special Diagnostics Group (SDG) and Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Reporting to the Senior Manager RTR Paisley SDG Operations the role will be responsible for the Finance operations for 19 entities located in UK and Europe. The role requires deep understanding of the operational finance end to end processes. It must provide a high standard of business partnering to various functions outside of finance. The manager will be responsible for a team of 7, so experience in people leading is preferable.
The successful candidate must be a high-potential prepared to ensure the team delivers accurate and timely reporting results. They must be assured at working in a large multi-national; complex structure with the ability to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead a division of the SDG accounting operations team, responsible for the monthly US GAAP reporting for the EMEA region.Mentor, coach and develop the team of finance professionals and driving a performance and customer first culture.Accountable for ensuring that all operational finance activities are completed accurately and on time.Deliver operational excellence.Lead, promote and drive a PPI culture in the team, taking accountability for the delivery of projects feeding into the annual productivity targets.Key contact for the business/ customers on projects and initiatives as required by working closely with other GBS departments and functions (i.e. Legal entity rationalization / productivity optimization).
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualified Accountant (CA, CIMA or ACCA.) Prior experience delivering in a fast-paced.
Knowledge, skills, Abilities:
People Management experience.Comfortable communicating with and presenting to various stakeholders. Able to organise and prioritise multiple complex situations. Accuracy is required in performing all aspects of the role.High level of proactivity to drive continuous improvement. Deep technical accounting expertise.Strong investigative, analytical and problem solving skills. Solid understanding of US GAAP (Desired but not crucial.)
