The Role -
Amphenol Aerospace is seeking aFilter Design Engineerto work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.
The key responsibilities of theFilter Design Engineerinclude, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the design of electrical filter connectors
Provides design guidance for the development of mechanical interconnect components, and specification of electrical devices used in EMI filter and Transient Voltage Suppression devices
Prepares designs, drawings, and specifications
Prepares engineering analysis to baseline designs
Disassembly of completed assemblies for troubleshooting electrical faults
Interfaces with other departments for the manufacturing and testing of samples (production electrical testing, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting)
L-C filter networks
Transient suppression devices
Coordinates the manufacturing of customer prototypes
Works with the test lab to use and understand testing for insertion loss, capacitance, isolation resistance, and inductance
Performs the functions required to process estimate requests and marketing product requests
Reviews customer documents for compliance with AAO documents and if necessary, prepares new designs to conform to these documents
Willingness to travel
Keeps supervision informed of status of all activities on a periodic basis
Works closely with the BDM and Product Managers of various business units
Salary $80,000 - $110,000

The Person -
The key skills and qualities of aFilter Design Engineerat Amphenol Aerospace:
Ability to maintain dedicated focus on intricate details of engineering designs
Willingness to contribute extra effort in support of critical business opportunities
Experience with PTC Creo, Windchill, P-Spice, or similar simulation software is preferred but not required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Understanding of electrical capacitor and inductor component design
Familiarity with soldering processes and solder joint failure modes
Familiarity with electrical contact design
Sitting and typing for prolonged periods of time
