What You'll Do
As a Field Service Technician, you will work on-site at terminal locations in Calgary and and Edmonton. You will provide support to regional REMPREX clients through installing, troubleshooting, and servicing technology for our automated gate systems. You will do this through utilizing built-in diagnostics and external testing equipment to ensure proper functionality. The Field Service Technician will perform preventative maintenance and attend to any reported errors or broken equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring REMPREX technology in the field is properly functioning and reporting any exceptions to the otherwise automated processes.
Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits, mechanics, and programming through maintenance, installation, and auditing of the AGS
Work with clients, by phone and in person, to identify operational and technical issues, and communicate potential downtime prior to beginning repair
Install, repair, and document equipment and other products; replace defective units and components, as appropriate
Properly apply and fill out Red Tags to defective parts and place on the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) shelf
Prepare all necessary information, tools, and parts to complete daily responsibilities
Accurately plan out all dispatches for the day
Prepare necessary parts to accommodate required repairs as well as unforeseen occurrences
Perform an audit of the service vehicle, including safety equipment, tools, tires, damage, and cleanliness
Prepare, review, and complete work orders, Global Monitoring System (GMS) tickets, and Red Tags
Prepare the work area with all required safety postings and clean up the work area upon completion of required work
Safely operate a service vehicle for transportation purposes to and from the work area
Provide top-of-the-line customer service to REMPREX clients
Arrive on-time and in appropriate clothing
Demonstrate a positive attitude
Engage the client in meaningful conversation to explain repair information and estimated completion time
Perform in-house hardware troubleshooting and repair
Provide assistance to TSG Level I Support Technicians between dispatches
Maintain a clean work environment in the lab, vehicle, and warehouse
This role is a full-time position, consisting of 40 business hours, and may require the Field Service Technician to travel on short notice to assist other field sites. The role may require the Field Service Technician to work non-standard hours including weekends and holidays.
What You’ll Need
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a field service environment
Proficiency in Microsoft® Applications
Basic knowledge of AC, DC, and low voltage power
Basic knowledge of networking including, ping, DHCP, and IP addresses
Capable of safely handling hand and power tools
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work in a team environment
Driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Excellent customer interface and communication skills, verbal and written
Physical Requirements
Capable of lifting 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
For lift bucket safety, weight cannot exceed 250 pounds, including tools
Work Environment
The Field Service Technician works directly with equipment located at intermodal train yards, and as a result is required to wear appropriate safety attire, i.e., boots, vest, safety glasses and hard hat.

Location
This roles primary location is in the Calgary area 4x per week, and one day per week at our Edmonton location.
