Field Service Technical Representative
Description
Primary Purpose:
Provides technical factory service support of Lycoming's products to OEM, distributors, and individual customers through effective communications and field visits. Ensures that feedback of service issues reaches the appropriate personnel for effective problem resolution. Maintains familiarity with all engine systems and models. Provides documentation to support service experience through theService Record (SR) system. Coordinates warranty service issues as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical guidance, post-sale support, and solutions to customer’s technical and maintenance needs.
Travels to customer sites to assess engine concerns & questions and determine best course of action to address issues; arranges for tools and parts as needed.
Complies with governing Aviation Authority at customer locations and completes all required paperwork.
Acts as a technical liaison between the production floor and Customer Service.
Interfaces with all departments within the Lycoming Engines organization.
Assists with existing product modifications by providing specific applications.
Develops and maintains a strong customer rapport and positive image.
Conducts training and technical sessions at events & trade shows.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field is strongly desiredPosition Requirements:
Must be a certified A&P Mechanic.
Must possess current, valid Driver’s License.
Must have general working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration rules and regulations.
International travel experience is a plus. Will be required to obtain a US Passport for international travel assignments.
3-5 years of experience in general aviation engine maintenance, operations and/or assembly is a plus.
Experience in electronically controlled gasoline or common rail Diesel engines is a plus.
Domestic and International travel to support customers.
Fluency in non-English language a plus.
Additional Competencies Required:
Teamwork approach; strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills; ability and willingness to travel as necessary.
Travel Requirement: 35% of the time.
