General Information:
You will be the provider of technical support, scheduling a team of field service representatives for High Voltage products within Canada. Reporting to the Local Service Manager. Your hands-on experience and knowledge of customer needs will help you build strong customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and instruction to the field service representatives in his group about projects to be executed. In charge of delegating/scheduling the field work, overseeing progress towards goals, and training/coaching team members as needed.Delivering outstanding and professional services, remotely or on-site, in key categories, e.g. installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end-of-life services and replacements.Responsible for motivating their teammates as well as inspiring positive communication within them so that they can work together toward success.Exceed customer expectations by understanding and anticipating current and potential needs.Troubleshooting potential equipment failures and proactively taking measures to offset/prevent and inform internal partners. Assign the necessary resources for onsite investigation and repair.Identifying and developing potential sales and business opportunities based on knowledge of customers and collaboration across HITACHI ENERGY.Suggesting product and process improvements within the business to enhance operations and customer service.Work closely with the service project manager and local service manager
Qualifications:
Candidates must have STRONG mechanical and electrical aptitudes.A college or university diploma/degree in a technical field (electrical engineering or technologist, mechanical engineering, or technologist) would be an asset.Red Seal or Interprovincial Trade Certification would be an asset.More than 7 to 10 years of experience in technical field service work, working as a field service representative with power electrical/mechanical equipment, managing crews of more than 3 persons on field assignments.A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in substation construction, servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing high voltage equipment up to 800kV, power system equipment, SF6 gas handling, Point on Wave, radiography, DTB, LTB, GIS, GCB would be an asset.Strong knowledge of electrical testing,Must have good computer skills with MS suite of tools as well as good general computer knowledge.Excellent ability to communicate with customer and teammates.Good written skills.Current driver's license valid in Canada and ability to work in the US an asset.Ability to travel to the US and other Canadian Locations an asset.Ability to travel on job sites 30-40% of the time for trainings, safety audits, and emergency.
