What do our Business Development Representatives do?
The Business Development Representatives are responsible for generating market growth in a defined multi-state territory to Government clients. They have business development experience, including prospecting of government contracts, managing RFP/RFQ bid process, and strong relationship building skills.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Generate, develop, and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities consistent with VDCI's service offerings throughout a specified territory.Identify and engage with the decision makers of potential leads. (Government Contract Sector)Actively conduct cold and warm calling to prospective leads.Manage sales process from Identification Stage to Contract Execution.Manage and lead RFP/RFQ bid process from start to finish.Work cohesively with operations and management to develop service offerings.Actively attend and present at town council meetings within defined sales territory.Attend sales meetings, trade shows, industry events, and customer visits.
What do you need?
Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of business development/sales experience.Proficient at CRM, Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Strong public speaking ability.Experience working for and/or contracting with government entities. (Preferred)Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. (Company pays for all expenses)Ability to work from flexible hours.Ability to work from home.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Effective ability to cultivate and develop relationships.Must pass a pre-employment background screen.Must possess a valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle record search.
