Job DescriptionExplore with us! Terracon's Cincinnati, OH Facilities Team is looking for a Field Facility Professional. This position will travel up to 80% of the time to project sites. 1-5 years of roofing and/or paving experience needed.General Responsibilities:Field Facility Professionals diagnose and develop repair/restoration solutions for the built environment. This includes all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Projects range from providing onsite observations of various roofing and/or paving projects through photographic documentation, to detailed evaluations of structural systems, roofs, facades, plaza deck and below grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, industrial floors, and construction materials. Assessment techniques include, visual examination, non-destructive testing, instrumentation and load testing, and destructive examinations. Client deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration.Through visual observation, confirm installation compliance with project documents. Client deliverables include daily reports describing all roofing and/or paving activities performed and pre-final/final reports documenting punch-list items.Essential Roles and Responsibilities:Assignments are designed to develop knowledge and abilities. This position will work typically on smaller, routine projects.Assists in performing assessments, inspections and testing. Preparation of reports, plans, specifications, calculations, and research.Terracon liaison between client and contractor - Be the eyes and ears of the project. Provide client and contractor communication.Preconstruction documentation of site conditions - Inspect materials delivered to the job sites for compliance with contract specifications and confirm construction materials are aligned with approved submittals using photographic documentation.Review project plans, specs, details, and submittals.Perform final inspections and develop a punch-list identifying items out of compliance and/or incomplete incorrect installations.Prior to leaving the site each day, perform inspection to verify water-tight seal is achieved.Email communications on daily activities.Follow safety rules, practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.Reporting: Responsible for completing daily and final observation reports.Complete daily progress mapContact client and document when unforeseen conditions arise, and/or when roofing contractor deviates from the project plans and specifications.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in building science or related building field and up to 5 years' experience in facility assessment. Or, in lieu of a degree, 4-9 years' related experience.Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Office productsConstruction observation experience, roofing, and/or paving experience preferred.
