Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in a related field with 2 years of experience providing direct service in the Mental Health Field or3 years of experience providing direct service in a related field, Human Services field preferred.Effective communication (oral and written)Interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.Responsible, self-motivated, and capable of handling multiple tasks.Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word.
Duties and Responsibilities
Services include education and opportunities for families - skill building, parenting, bonding, nurturing and attachment, strengthening relationships, understanding developmental milestones and age-appropriate discipline, home safety, social and emotional wellness, social connections, hands on activities, tools, and resources for the home.Pro-social activities, providing positive social experiences, role modeling, skill development, and family-centered relationships, concrete supports for parents.
Collaboration with other involved providersSupport and advocacy, linkage to other resources as appropriate
Services can be provided one time or ongoing dependent upon families needs.Direct services can be provided in the home, community and or agency setting.Direct services are in person except when necessary. Virtual if client is ill and does not feel well enough to meet. Groups, such as COS Circle of Security may be provided virtually if requested by parent.Promote skills, strengths and support.School Readiness development plans 3-5 years oldCollaborate with Family Resource Coordinator on planning and implementing Quarterly Community Events and Family Gym Nights 2 times per week.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONSMust have valid NYS Drivers License, an acceptable driving record and adequate insurance.Must comply with all Agency policies and procedures.Required to understand and abide by the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that apply to the program or service that you provide.Required to report any known or suspected violation of laws, regulations, policies, or procedures related to programs, services, agency operations, or personnel of the agency.Required to maintain accurate documentation including, but not limited to, purchase orders, petty cash, expenditures, mileage records, and time sheetsAttend all trainings as necessary for job performance.NYS, OMIG, LENS, VIRTUS background check clearances
