Drivers' license/insurance and be willing to operate a company owned vehicle as needed.Job Description: The director of family services is responsible for the daily function of the organization's social services. This position will involveleading, supervising, planning, reporting, and implementing department goals and objectives. Conduct general casework services. Serve as the Army's representative to other service providers.Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with others to accomplish common goals and objectives that promote the organization's mission, vision, and values.Conduct intake assessments, collect personal/demographic data, develop case histories, advocate for clients, and provide information & referrals.Give direct supervision to family service staff, case worker, pantry intake workers, job trainees, etc.Provide backup and support to the food pantry as needed.Serve as a primary contact for social service program inquiries.Report directly to the business manager.Work with senior administrative assistant in processing financial assistance.Ensure that all program services are implemented according to organizational policies and procedure.Do monthly, quarterly, annual organizational and housing related reports, as required for contract compliance and various reporting needs.Support and promote social service policies and practices.Track all department reports.Do home visits as needed.Develop community relationships and keep records for contacts and resources.Develop and implement ways to connect clients from Social Services to The Salvation Army Corps programs.Retain intake forms for all services.Attend community forums and meetings as necessary for contract services and/or the effective working relationship with other service providers.Serve on the Injury & Illness Prevention safety committee.Attend meetings as requested.Seasonal Duties:Assist with the Angel Tree and Adopt-a-Family programs in the intake, data collection, reporting, correspondence, and distribution process.Participate as needed in the distribution of food and toys.Physical Capabilities RequiredAbility to grasp, push, pull objects such as files file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.Ability to operate a complex multi-faceted telephone system.Ability to operate a desktop and/or laptop computer.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Ability to access and produce information from a computer.Ability to understand oral and written information.Ability to walk, sit, stand, and bend intermittently and/or continuousl
