Job Description
The Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking an experienced facilities management professional to join our team as the Facility Supervisor of Hospital Operations. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless day-to-day operations of our hospital facilities. Reporting directly to the Area Facility Manager, your responsibilities will encompass a diverse array of tasks aimed at maintaining the continuous functionality of the hospital and promoting a safe and efficient environment.
The schedule is as follows : Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm, with Saturday and Sunday as your days off.
This role will contribute to the overall efficiencies and financial health of the facility by implementing and monitoring systems and supervising a dedicated team of mechanical equipment maintenance professionals. Additionally, you will utilize sophisticated software to streamline maintenance work orders, equipment management, and project tracking through the Capital Asset Management Information Systems (CAMIS).
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
Oversee the maintenance of critical mechanical equipment and systems, including generators, fire protection, elevators, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, electrical, and security, ensuring optimal functionality through regular inspections and proactive problem-solving.Lead and supervise a diverse team of facility staff, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and groundskeepers, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, timely completion of employee performance reviews, and continuous professional development.Manage contracts for building services, collaborating with hospital business units to ensure contractual compliance, timely payments, and annual evaluations to uphold service levels.Coordinate space planning in collaboration with other business units, allocating space for hospital staff and tenant agencies, and contribute to budget preparation and monitoring for facility operations.Effectively manage the use of supplies, state vehicles, and their maintenance, ensuring adherence to Office of Vehicle Management policies, EPA reporting policies, and applicable regulations.Collaborate with the Area Facility Manager and budget teams to develop and monitor operating and capital budgets for building operations, preparing project funding requests and overseeing procurement processes.Utilize the Capital Asset Management Information Systems (CAMIS) for data management, addressing maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance, equipment management, and project tracking.Ensure compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements, including the Joint Commission, National Fire Protection Association, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid, by participating in the Hospital's Environment of Care Program.Conduct regular meetings with building occupants to address their needs and communicate proper equipment use and care, while also participating in safety programs and overseeing workplace safety and compliance.Actively contribute to cross-agency initiatives for renovations, capital projects, and emergency planning, serving as a leader in the Emergency Management Task Force and recommending and implementing policy enhancements in line with DCAMM standards.
Required Qualifications
Ability to organize data into comprehensive reports, charts, graphs and tables.Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Excellent communication and presentation skills.Knowledge of the principles and practices of management including behavioral techniques, planning, forecasting, organizational development, etc. Knowledge of work simplification methods. Ability to adjust to varying or changing situations to meet emergency or changing program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.
About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH):
Located on over 100 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations.
WRCH provides inpatient services to 290 adults, inclusive of a Deaf Inpatient Mental Health Service, and 30 adolescents on the ACCU.

Qualifications
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in: business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. An Associate's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
III. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
