Responsibilities
The Facilities Systems Monitoring Technician is responsible for processing requests for building system deficiencies and responding appropriately to system alarms. The technician works within the Control Center which provides coverage and support for multiple Mayo Clinic Campus Facilities 24/7/365. The technician will work both independently and in a team setting, is capable of operating, and correcting deficiencies on multiple maintenance and fire alarm systems in a complex work environment. Displays good organization ability and communicates with co-workers, prioritizes work during multiple events, and displays good coping and communication skills. Interacts and works in close cooperation with multiple departments across the campus and provides excellent customer service. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work overtime may be required.
Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and 2 years’ experience working in a customer service environment, or a 2-year degree / diploma or higher. Basic computer and keyboarding or typing skills are essential. Applicant must possess a high level of concentration, memory retention, and attention to detail. Applicant must display thorough development of the following skills: customer service, spoken communication, interaction and versatility, decision making and problem solving, coping, commitment to task, tolerance of ambiguity, decisiveness, alertness and perceptivity. Accuracy is necessary as well as the ability to think and respond quickly in stressful or emergency situations. Strong communications skills, and the ability to work both as a team and independently are essential. Physical requirements include the ability to do sit or stand at a computer desk for the duration of the shift and read newsprint font style and size.
