Description
As a member of our Global Team you will support the workplace transformation within a wide range of facilities that GM has around the world. You will work with an industry leading team that designs, builds/constructs, and maintains facilities and building assets for vast operating functions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Resource for engineering services for all facility related systems. Serve as technical liaison for Sustainable Workplace Operations Support 3rd party contract management activities Act as the owner and is responsible for all architectural, electrical, or mechanical categories relating to forecasting, planning, and executing asset sustainment plans and strategies, accountable for facility condition assessments. Responsible to manage and ensure all critical facility drawings for site are maintained current and accurate including but not limited to: revise construction documents to "as-built" conditions, coordinating with the appropriate GM personnel for updating GM Master CADD files and archiving projects as required to and support common processes for document management during and after project execution. Responsible for the execution of and compliance to the Project Delivery Tool (PDT) Program Manager (PDPM) for their responsible portfolio and projects. High cost and / or high complexity projects requiring engineering. Stay current in their field of expertise in facility technologies and processes including but not limited to: codes, building technologies, energy and building management systems, best practices, and certifications. Manage with the Project Managers all approved project budgets including but not limited to: forecasting, accruals, invoice process, ensuring allocated, committed, and spent funds are balanced. Support all facility shutdown activities including planned and unplanned interruptions following the escalation process including but not limited to: supporting emergency response plans, disaster recovery plans, and business resumption and continuity process. (IE readily available for all emergencies) Supports and drives successful planning and execution of the Workplace Safety System including but not limited to: speak up for safety, call to action, safety observation tours, employee safety concerns, incident investigation, safety module compliance, SIF, and G-Comply (Sign-off procedure) Support and adhere to the GM Process Risk Management (PRM) process and assist in resolution of all non-compliance issues. Supports and drives successful planning and execution of all SW-Global Manufacturing System principles and elements within their portfolio. Support and assist in the successful execution of GM sponsored programs including but not limited to: suggestion programs, recognition, special events, tours, and community out reach. Adhere and comply to all internal control policies applicable to Sustainable Workplaces including but not limited to: training, and access control.
COMMUNICATIONS
Communicate with the site personnel (including plant staff, ME Manager, FAM, etc.), and Sustainable Workplaces team to ensure understanding and support of all BPD/Operational metrics, energy conservation initiatives, project implementation and utility issues. Communicate with internal and external customers regarding utilities operational issues. Interface with UAW and comply with the local and national labor agreements. Attend and participate in plant, regional, and central meetings. Guide, train, support and direct the activities of Service Provider employees in operations. Conduct and/or arrange required training for hourly and salaried personnel. Gather data, analyze, interpret, and prepare technical reports for plant leadership, and as requested from Sustainable Workplaces. Drive Energy MEI and CI objectives Interface with GM Audit Services and Legal Staff, as required.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
Initiate and implement energy, maintenance and operational projects and programs: Assist and/or prepare business case analysis to implement such projects while maintaining budget and schedules. Coordinate activities to ensure appropriate interface with the project group. Support in implementing product and non-product program projects (Plant extensions, production changes, equipment change-outs, etc.) Provide input in early stages of manufacturing projects to ensure adequate utility supply quality and capacity.

Requirements:
BS Mechanical Engineering (MS/professional certifications preferred) or equivalent training/experience Technical aptitude for design, maintenance, and operation of industrial building electrical systems Experience in project planning, engineering, and execution Experience in managing salaried and/or hourly personnel preferred. High level of negotiating skills to resolve issues with both internal and external stakeholders. Computer skills including competency in office software and electronic information systems. Proficient use of AutoCAD Able to manage projects within budget and with multiple suppliers, contractors or other GM units.
