Job Description
Serve as the Facilities Engineer for a specific production and/or support area within the facility.
Coordinate service contractors for facility maintenance/projects activities toward completion of tasks focusing on safety, quality, cost, and timely completion.
Provide oversight of contractors to ensure conformance to Bosch, OSHA, NFPA, ICC, and safety requirements.
Perform and/or oversee planning, design, estimating, and execution of work orders and complex projects related to: facilities maintenance, renovation and restoration, production equipment installation, relocation, and removal.
Develop scope or work and/or specifications for mechanical, plumbing, general construction, and related systems for facilities and/or production projects. Procure design services by contract as needed.
Develop labor and material estimates, project budget estimates, and project schedules.
Develop request for quotes in coordination with purchasing department.
Prepare contract and bid documents, review amendments and change orders, approve payment requests.
Procure equipment, materials, and construction services by contract or use of in-house resources.
Schedule/coordinate project phasing, outages and disruptions.
Recommend design modifications when field conditions warrant.
Perform continual on-site inspection of construction activities and follow-up with customer throughout project to ensure safety, quality, timeliness, and budget expectations are met.
Conduct final project walk-through with customer.
Maintain records of construction documents to include budgets, communications, contracts, change orders, drawings/specifications, meetings, invoices, payments, purchase orders, etc.
Prepare reports as required to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Maintain budget control for expenditures (capital and OH expense).
Participate in development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives, including active participation in facilities emergency response team.
Develop and maintain facility strategies for proper building value preservation plan.
Oversee projects to improve safety, including working closely with Health, Safety, and Environmental department.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree required, engineering highly preferred. Technical degree also considered.
2+ years of engineering experience preferred; Co-op or intern experience accepted.
Including managing commercial and/or industrial facilities and production projects to include: facilities maintenance, renovation and restoration; and production equipment installation, relocation, and removal.
Knowledge and experience with current technology, codes, and laws applicable to facilities engineering, construction, and maintenance to include NFPA, OSHA, EPA, DHEC, ICC, and NEC.
SAP knowledge (desired)
Excellent computer skills.
Familiar with state and national Building/Mechanical/Construction Codes
Effective problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Self-starting, results oriented, flexible, team player.
Demonstrate discipline and consistency regarding adherence to established standards, policies, and procedures (such as safety, health, quality, etc.).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborates well with others- both giving and receiving information.
Must be self-driven, requiring minimal supervision and experience indirectly leading others.
