Become a Facilities Construction Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you'll report to the Principal Manager of the CRE PMO, and provide project management support for departmental and enterprise-wide projects. You will routinely manage planning and implementation of facility construction projects and serve as a primary integration point with Strategic Planning, Facilities Asset Management (FAM), Finance and CRE's project and construction management service providers.

Provides project management, development and oversight for assigned capital construction projects within the specified programs. Assists Senior Program Managers and Project Controls with project portfolio management. Tracks projects from Initiation in Strategic Planning into the PMO for planning and execution. Develops project approval documentation including business cases, financial reports and presentations. Participates in and manages the planning and implementation of key business activities, including project programming, design development and vendor selection/management. Evaluates and advises CRE leadership on project scope, prioritization, risk, cost and schedule. Provides consultative support to the Strategic Planning group, Business Relationship Managers and clients during the project Initiation phase, General Rate Case and Long-Range Plan development. Develops project status reports and presents scope, schedule and budget updates to the program management team, clients and senior leadership.
Qualifications
The essentials
Seven (7) or more years of experience in project management, project monitoring and controls, architecture, engineering and/or construction management with ownership of project scope, cost, and schedule responsibilities. Experience in strategic/operational project programming, planning and financial analysis. Experience communicating, presenting and relating to a wide variety of collaborators.
The preferred
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in architecture, engineering, business/finance or relevant technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or other project management program certification Experience with building code, regulatory and permitting requirements, working knowledge of design, architecture, and construction practices. Experience in acquisition, selection, contracting and management of vendors and contractors. Ability to build and maintain a safety-conscious work environment.
You should know
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
