  The Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) Ground Support Equipment team is seeking highly qualified applicants for a position as a JSF Support Equipment (SE) Ground Support Mechanic, at Edwards AFB, California;

  **NOTE: Duration of contract work on site limited to customer support needs and duration of operational test for Navy, UK, and NL services in 2024 / 2025**

  This position performs assembly, installation, maintenance, and repairs on program provided ground support equipment. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.

  The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of both F-35 ground support equipment, as well as tool room based support equipment. May be required to perform occasional nonstandard maintenance on equipment based on nature of maintenance need. Maintains appropriate maintenance, inventory, and repair logs. Uses a variety of hand, power, and test equipment. Frequently enters data into the Logistics Management System to document any maintenance action performed on equipment. Also, may be required to take on additional duties ie. driver training program, safety POC etc.

  You will be required to conduct familiarization of equipment theory and operation to new employees in the same job position, or to the customer during day to day operations. May require infrequent travel to other F-35 locations to participate in equipment training classes, and in support of short-term regional deployments in support of customer flight test ops.

  Local customer operations at Edwards AFB will require successful candidate to participate in short term customer support assignments at off-site locations that may include work onboard US Naval vessels in support of operational test requirements.

  Must be able to operate in a constantly evolving maintenance environment.

  * US Citizenship is required. A final DoD Secret Security Clearance is required prior to starting.

  Candidate MUST be able to relocate near Edwards AFB, CA in order to assume this role.

  Basic Qualifications:

  Minimum 4 years experience with AGE / GSE equipment maintenance with USAF, USMC, or USN

  Ability to frequently lift / pull / push equipment over 50lbs

  Ability to acquire and maintain a local flightline drivers certification

  Capable of working in hazardous flightline environment

  Candidate must be willing and able to support operations on both Dayshift or Swingshift, depending on shop / customer needs

  Desired Skills:

  Prior military flightline maintenance experience in AGE / GSE sustainment preferred.

  Excellent communication skills

  Keen ability to be a self-starter

  Certified in Refrigerant service and reclamation - CFC/HCFC Refrigerant Processing Certificate

  Support Equipment data management experience;

  Familiarity with DoD maintenance manuals;

  Experience with military standard maintenance practices

  Strong personal work ethic and maintenance quality mindset.

  Proficient using MS Office Software including; Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook; Highly computer literate

  Experience using engineering drawings and technical data.

  Knowledge of industrial and aircraft maintenance safety standards

  Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

  Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

  Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader

  Pay Rate:

  The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $71,000 - $136,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

  Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

  (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

  This position is incentive plan eligible.

  Pay Rate:

  The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $81,600 - $153,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
