Expert Toxicologist - Japan - Crop Protection and Chemicals - Remote

Labcorp is a global contract research organisation with a specialist division focused on crop protection and chemicals (CPC) development. We are currently seeking to recruit a toxicologist to work within our experienced and growing consultancy team in Japan.
This is an excellent opportunity to expand your existing knowledge working with global customers to provide scientific, technical and regulatory advice. The role provides real potential for career progression as a subject matter expert in this specialist discipline.
The ideal candidate will have either toxicology consultancy experience or hands-on expertise in performing or developing testing strategies across the toxicology discipline. This should include expertise in acute toxicity, chronic & sub-chronic endpoints for mammalian systems, as well as reproductive, genetic or inhalation toxicology.
They will ideally have an awareness of global data requirements relating to crop protection substances and/or chemicals test (e.g. OECD) guidelines. A particularly desirable skillset would be a knowledge of the JMAFF regulatory process, but there is the opportunity to develop this skill. An interest in global regulatory schemes for import tolerance, EU and US regulation will also be possible development opportunities. A good knowledge of written and spoken English is preferred in this role.
Responsibilities include:
Assist other expert toxicologists in delivery on dossiers, data gap analyses and literature review in the support of our customersEnsure an understanding of the customer's strategy and objectives and lead discussions during the design of projects to meet regulatory requirementsBeing responsible for toxicology argumentation and interpretation and provide expertise in key areas of regulatory consultancy work whilst being fully accountable for meeting quality and deadline demands for designated projectsAssist in decision making for toxicity impact effects and in relation to classificationKeep abreast of new scientific and regulatory developments in order to help plan/focus the development for CPC regulatory consultancy toxicologyProviding key program and strategic issue management advice to both customer and in-house departmentsHelp promote the business by providing technical support to the sales teamActively support and training other team members in specialist skills areas
