About Executive Director, Global Creative Operations - La Mer

  PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:

  La Mer is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Executive Director to lead our Global Creative Operations team. The Executive Director, Global Creative Operations serves as the first line of contact at La Mer Global Creative Department. S/he will strategically oversee our creative roadmap, project plans, resource allocations, and budget in partnership with Vice President Global Creative and Vice President Global Creative Operations for both NYC offices and Shanghai offices.

  This position leads and manages marketing engagement for all 360 advertising programs, packaging design, visual merchandising, store design and digital & social media activations. In addition, this person is responsible for marketing satisfaction, relationship growth, driving the creative/marketing innovation of our business and delivering best in class quality of service. This position is crucial in driving innovation and creative excellence within the La Mer brand.

  ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  Roadmap & Project Management

  • Leadership, ownership and ultimate accountability for Global Creative Roadmap and pipeline of 100+ campaigns for the brand as well as its status, reporting and management.

  • Partner with Global Marketing to understand communications strategy, determine deadlines and budget for all campaigns and projects.

  • Manages global packaging, visual merchandising, and store design pipeline through its respective project managers.

  • Track and report all project milestones under her/his team responsibility and provide.

  • Coordinate all creative project meetings and minutes with Brand President and SVP Marketing.

  • Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle.

  • Manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved.

  • Prioritize creative projects based on marketing strategies, brand priorities, and market demands. This ensures that the most important and time-sensitive projects receive the necessary attention and resources.

  People Operations

  • Build a high-performing team culture within Creative.

  • Work in particular close partnership with VP Creative, Head of People Operations and department leads. Be able to speak their language and be very comfortable with driving work across all disciplines.

  • Identify, organize & allocate necessary resources across the department to oversee and approve all schedules related to activities for print, video and digital.

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the Project Management team, composed of 15+ project managers in NYC and Shanghai.

  • Monitor staff, and budget activity related to freelance talent as needed and requested by the group.

  Process Design and Management

  • Streamline creative development workflows, ensuring that each phase of the process, from concept to final execution, is efficient and well-coordinated. This involves optimizing resource allocation, reducing bottlenecks, and eliminating unnecessary steps to expedite project delivery.

  • Collaborate with global marketing and creative teams, refining and approving every creative brief that comes into the creative department, making sure it's clear and on budget.

  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between Creative, Marketing, and other relevant departments. This approach ensures that input and feedback from various stakeholders are integrated into creative projects, resulting in more well-rounded and impactful campaigns.

  • explore and implement creative technology solutions that streamline design, production, and delivery processes. Leveraging the latest tools, software, and automation capabilities can significantly improve efficiency and reduce time-to-market for creative assets.

  • Oversee workflow and project management platforms to ensure quality, efficiency and productivity.

  Liaison with Global Marketing & Agency Management

  • Act as primary liaison and communication "bridge" day to day between Creative Services & Marketing, solving conflicts, building relationships, and creating a culture of transparency between both departments.

  • Run weekly production meetings, holding direct reports accountable for deadlines, while influencing other stakeholders (Copy, Marketing, etc.) to support successful outcomes.

  • Maintain the strategic relationships with our agency partners regarding price and timeline negotiations as well as workflow.

  • Build and leverage a network of contacts and partners as business needs evolve.

  • Establish and monitor budgets related to creative adaptation.

  Budget Management

  • Manage the annual budget for global creative, tracking and controlling expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness in conjunction with Head of Business Affairs and Vice President Global Creative Operations.

  • Collaborate with Finance to forecast budgetary requirements and optimize; resource allocation for creative projects.

  • Liaison with Consumer Marketing to establish Budget Priorities.

  • Work with Creative Departments developing budgets and timelines for creative projects.

  • Ensure strategies and initiatives are developed and implemented throughout the department to produce quality execution and standards, balancing short term and long-term goals while maintaining adherence to established budgets.

  Qualifications

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Communications, Advertising or related fields.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in creative operations, marketing, or advertising, with a strong track record of leadership and creative excellence.

  • Proven experience in managing creative budgets and resources effectively.

  • A true self-starter, considered, flexible and multi-functional person who is able handle ever changing priorities with energy and vigor.

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams across different regions.

  • Strong project management skills, including proficiency with project management software and tools such as Wrike (or similar), Airtable, Figma.

  • A visionary leader with the ability to inspire creativity and innovation within the team.

  • Global mindset; experience working across multiple geographies a plus.

  • Possess a sense of urgency with the ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to negotiate and influence others.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.

  The anticipated base salary range for this position is $149,500 to $257,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based ongeographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
