  Our Team

  The Disney Entertainment & ESPN (DE&E) Technology Design team thinks beyond what is possible today. They discover, disrupt, and chart a course to where our fans and consumers will be next. Design brings the Disney magic to life by building digital customer experiences via the entire portfolio of both consumer-facing products and internal products and tooling. This includes Sports, Entertainment, News, Streaming and Enterprise Products and Experiences.

  Enterprise Design

  The DE&E Technology Enterprise Design team works to unlock insights, efficiency, and collaboration across DE&E Technology. As strategic, platform, and business-thinkers, our mission is to shape the tools that shape our organization by simplifying the complex, making adoption easy, and delivering intuitive solutions that rival any third or first-party experiences. We are a multi-disciplinary design team where you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with many design groups and specialties to create innovative products that people love to use.

  Our enterprise team is comprised of three core areas of focus:

  Designing and innovating across our unique content and media platforms, operational and internal employee tools and experiences

  Upleveling our Ad Experience, Platforms and tools (this team has delivered award winning experiences!)

  The important and efficiency-driving platforms and experiences that power our robust Streaming business.

  Job Summary

  As the Executive Director, Design – Enterprise, you are the head of Enterprise Design team and are responsible for building, managing and mentoring a multi-disciplinary design team. You are passionate about a best-in-class craft, storytelling, guiding design processes, mentoring the team, and collaborating with leaders of other Design, Product, Engineering, and Business teams to create innovative experiences across all of DMED’s products.

  Roles & Responsibilities

  You will be responsible for managing, leading, inspiring, and growing the Enterprise Design Team

  You possess a clear vision of the future of Enterprise Design and empathy and have the courage to pursue forward-thinking design solutions

  You will drive the evolution of our organizational navigation, efficiency tools,

  aggregated insights, performance reporting and B2B external partner experiences for DE&E

  You will apply your intuition and creativity to build compelling design strategies that balances both business and internal users’ needs for our content platforms, consumer platforms, advertising platforms, and employee experiences

  You will provide day-to-day design leadership that builds a shared understanding of the holistic user-centric intersection of design, content, business, and engineering

  Your design work sets an example that all designers want to follow

  You will be a design activator, working to deliver a platform vision and strategy that balances revolutionary framework projects along with a plan for evolutionary, iterative updates to realize a more extensive vision

  You will operate as the primary point-of-contact on critical strategic initiatives for design leadership and cross-functional partners

  You will be expected to partner with a variety of teams, inspiring confidence that your team will deliver compelling user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well informed on time.

  With fellow design directors, you will contribute to the creative ethos of the design team’s culture, community, processes, diversity, and inclusion while setting new standards in excellence

  Qualifications

  10+ years of Design/Creative experiences, including 7+ years of management experiences

  You have managed, lead, and inspired teams of designers

  You have resource planned and staffed projects and groups based on the available skills to deliver excellent design solutions on time

  You have a broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories, and practices of design leadership

  You have a deep understanding of the needs for internal experiences and how to design enterprise experiences

  You have identified and set platform strategies, envisioned complex user interactions, and inspired teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible

  You have brought cross-functional teams together

  You are hungry for innovation, eager to challenge the status quo

  You have influenced, defined, and scaled complex company-wide platform design strategy in a fast-paced environment

  You can communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization

  You have managed multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously

  The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles and Bristol is $199,000 to $266,000 per year. The hiring range for this position in New York is $208,400 to $279,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
