Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, has a great opportunity for a EVS Educator. We are looking for hard working individual who will be responsible for ensuring our facilities new and existing EVS Housekeeping team is properly oriented and full trained on the safety and functions of Housekeeping EVS in the hospital setting. Our housekeepers are the backbone of patient care as without them, this operation could not function. Preferred qualifications
EVS and/or Training/Educational experience (2 years)
Leadership Exp will be considered
HS Diploma acceptable, prefer a college degree
MS Office Experience with WORD, EXCEL
Specific job details: This position will be responsible for the full on-boarding, orient and training cycle for all new and existing team members entering EVS. This position will create, adjust and teach team members, being hands on will be key. Creating schedules for new team members along with the departments admin work (Bill Pay, Supply Ordering, data gathering)

POSITION SUMMARY
This position develops education/training materials, conducts and coordinates training and implementation of new systems and processes, and assists in the development of Environmental Services staff and other Banner staff as appropriate. Provides technical staff training in the usage of all equipment, supplies, and processes utilized. Creates and maintains all department training material, tools and/or records. Conducts new hire skill assessments, department specific orientation, and required annual curriculum. Provides continuing education and updates as needed.

Provides advanced administrative support for an executive or provides advanced/specialized business support. Provides work leadership and direction to junior level staff. Motivates and directs work team to achieve work goals and manage projects.
Coordinates, handles, and/or completes recurring projects or one-time projects, as directed by supervisor. Develops instructions and procedures for resolving problems. Chooses best alternative from group of known responsibilities.
Interprets request and helps implement action. Responds to non-standard requests from internal and/or external customers. Regularly interacts with department personnel, cross- department personnel, supervisor, supervisor’s peers and external customers.
Maintains department data and records. Prioritizes and organizes own work. Uses discretion to modify work practices to achieve results or improve efficiency. Receives after the fact review of work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Significant experience, typically gained through 3 years relevant work experience. Requires the skills, knowledge and abilities typically gained over three or more years of diversified healthcare or similar institutional Environmental Services experience, including extensive knowledge of leadership, staff training, customer service, computerized staffing and inventory principles and practices. Effective organizational, communication, and human relations skills are necessary. Must have a thorough working knowledge of floor care maintenance (hard floors and carpets) and the machinery and chemicals used. Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of patient care area and room cleaning, as well as surgical suite terminal cleaning as defined by established standards. Must possess knowledge of hazardous waste procedures and regulations, Standard Precautions, and JCAHO standards on Infection Control and Environment of Care. Must serve as a role model to others in customer service skills, safe work practices, and infection control including hand hygiene.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two or more years of experience at a supervisory level is preferred. Intermediate word processing, spreadsheet and/or database software skills are preferred. Previous successful experience conducting job training and focus on continual quality and service improvement is strongly preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
