Job Description
CyberData Technologies is looking to hire an experienced Evaluation Specialist to support efforts with the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) of CDC related to the prevention and control of chronic diseases. This candidate will provide applied research and evaluation support to the Synthesis, Translation, and Applied Research (STAR) team to implement the applied research and translation activities prioritized to address specific program and policy translation questions.
The candidate will evaluate the programs and establish methodologies to determine critical performance metrics, to include key performance, success indicators and logic models. This enables a clear comparison of individual programs in terms of their effectiveness, identifying programs that are achieving their objectives. Candidates experienced in these processes and procedures are necessary to assess if the goals and objectives align with the programs strategies and intended outcomes and ensuring synergy in their execution. Candidates must also be able to articulate the processes and evaluation outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Review and write reports.
Experience with quality improvement to support program assessments for national evaluations in larger scale.
Developing both quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (discussion guides and interview guides) data collection tools /instruments.
Independently perform research without much guidance.
Conduct literature reviews utilizing a variety of methods.
Understand the scope of the literature.
Able to start with the data analysis/assessment, or experience with landscape-types of assessments.
Work with grantees or funded entities and assessed the performance or progress of their programs/projects.
Assist in the design of data collection instruments for collecting qualitative and quantitative data via focus groups and interviews to assess, for example, program, practice, systems, organizational, social or policy changes. Assists in the analysis of data for reporting and making recommendations for program changes or improvements. This work may also require extracting data from administrative data systems and other quantitative data, such as evaluation or implementation research outcomes, to develop analytic data sets.
Develop and utilize methodologies to assess the effectiveness and utilization of DDT intervention programs. Identify data sources, variables, sampling methods, questions and analysis that will provide information on the current and potential effectiveness of existing and emerging interventions for people with diabetes.
Develop concept papers that highlight the strengths and weakness of new surveillance, epidemiologic and program evaluation data resources that address prioritized translation questions related to the National Diabetes Prevention Program (including marketing and evaluation efforts), the Diabetes Self- Management Education and National Diabetes Education Program.
Develop manuscripts, reports and summaries that address prioritized translation questions. Contributes knowledge of various types of data collection and analytic tools such as surveys, focus groups, and social network/media. Typical assignments require developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the program. This work includes conducting statistical analyses related to implementation research and evaluation. This work involves accessing and understanding relevant data sources, selecting appropriate methods, developing computer programs, and summarizing results.
Identifies best practices and advises organizational leadership on how they could be adopted in other programs. Identifies and analyzes issues, problems, and challenges facing the program; formulates and evaluates possible courses of action for resolving them; draws conclusions based on relevant facts; and recommends solutions to organizational leadership.
Required Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in public health or similar field.
Minimum of 8 or more years of experience in related field or industry.
Knowledge of various types of data collection and analytic tools such as, surveys, focus groups, and social network/media.
Experience within CDC or public health is desired.
