Overview
The ISD Engineer IV is a technical resource with an advanced level of skills in the areas of IBM AIX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux which includes UNIX systems engineering, architecture, deployment, configuration, and management.
This position will primarily focus on the automation of administration tasks using Ansible and shell scripting. You will leverage automation and orchestration to streamline the overall UNIX server lifecycle. Reducing engineer workload and limiting reactive responses will be a primary focus for you. Our Infrastructure Automation Engineers are responsible for the big picture of how our systems relate and communicate; we use a breadth of tools and approaches to tackle a broad spectrum of problems.
This position will be located at one of our campus locations in Vienna, Winchester or Pensacola. The position is a hybrid position with a minimum on-site requirement.

Responsibilities
Evaluate existing manual processes and design and implement automated solutions to replace them
Identify opportunities to leverage and implement automation and Infrastructure as Code
Contribute to systematic exploration, discovery, and recommendation of new and emerging technologies pertaining to UNIX Engineering
Create, update, and maintain documentation reflecting all automation architecture, configuration, and operation
Provide incident and ticket responses and participate in an on-call rotation
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
Five years or more of practical experience
Experience developing/scripting with automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools. Strong experience with one or more of the following: Ansible (Preferred), Bash, KornShell, Python
Experience with version control and version control systems such as git and GitHub
Experience with IBM AIX (LPARs, VIOs, HACMP, GPFS) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Experience with OS patching and Firmware deployment/management
Experience with implementing and maintaining system security across Unix platforms
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Knowledge of ServiceNow and Change Management processes
Knowledge of IBM POWER and Cisco UCS hardware
Ability to collect and analyze performance statistics and recommend changes for capacity planning
Strong organization skills with emphasis on detail and follow-up
Hours: Monday - Friday, TBD and on-call. Availability 24x7 on a rotational on-call basis.
