Job Description
The Customer Experience and Support (CES) team within the Intel Ethernet Product Division (IEPD) is looking for a talented senior Ethernet Advance Debug Engineer to support Intel Ethernet products.
The primary job role is technical enabling of Intel Ethernet product for both discrete and integrated high-speed Ethernet.
This includes technical debug and issue resolution of complex PHY and Link issues.
The role is also expected to work with ethernet phy architect directly for phy design and venders qualification.
And the role is also expect to work with software debug tool team for tool development.
Complex issue debug, problem solving, multi-tasking, organization, and customer management skills are critical to success in this role.
Some travel may be required as appropriate based on customer needs.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform advanced debug of networking issues particularly ones relating to Ethernet PHY and PHY firmware, as well as other elements of the Link layer subsystem.
You will be expected to effectively document debug status as well as communicating debug plans to customers and internal stakeholders.
Work directly with the PHY architect and product planners to ensure required PHY debug features are included in the product landing zone.
Work directly with tools teams to develop and test PHY debug features.
Create and manage interoperability validation plans from early pre-silicon PHY test vehicle through product launch, and report test results in the validation steering team meetings.
Document findings and feedback to the development teams.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
The candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering along with min of 3 years of experience
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong analytical skills for problem abstraction and resolution
Good understanding of high-speed IO debug methods preferably 10G+ Ethernet technologies (signaling environment, debug, protocol)
Working knowledge of lab equipment including oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, logical analyzer, etc.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deliver quality result.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Ethernet Link protocols including IEEE 802.3, MSA SFF-8431, SGMII.
Knowledge of Intel system level architecture BMC, NCSI, I2C, IOSF.
Working knowledge of 10G/25G/40G/100G/200G/400G Ethernet media (Optical, DAC, Backplane)
Working knowledge of Ethernet module manageability protocol including, SFF-8472, SFF-8636, CMIS 3.x/4.x/5.x
Experience of supporting customer design/issue activities.
Experience of server platform design

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
