Duties include providing technical leadership, training, and mentoring to employees. Works with Construction Practice leadership to define Estimating Practice expectations, standards, and goals. Conducts field and desktop investigations within employee's respective area of expertise, troubleshoots technical problems, provides input and support to superiors, and will serve as liaison between client and company. Provides technical oversight of others and conducts technical reviews of practice group assignments. Ensures that the Estimating work product maintains excellence in accordance with practice group and company standards. Works under minimum supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks. Provides technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring within employee's professional or technical discipline.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Will perform technical reviews of verbal and written Estimates.Works with district managers to staff incoming assignments with technically qualified experts.Works with other practice leads to coordinate and ensure consistent work product throughout the company.Works with district managers to develop, support, and participate in individualized training programs for new hires and other technical staff in employee's respective discipline.Assists district managers in conducting interviews and assessment of job candidates.Supports company business development efforts through continuing education presentations and sales calls.Consults with district managers for technical input on employee performance reviews.Performs investigations in employee's own field of expertise.Provides guidance and oversight for large, complex, or long-term assignments.Coordinates with and supports corporate practice directors as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:Certified Professional Estimator through ASPE (or equivalent), or ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.Construction Management degree with 5+ years of estimating experience or 10+ years of estimating experience.Contractors license a plus.Construction estimating work experience, foreman, superintendent, project engineer, etc.REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:Cost estimating using top-down (first-principles, analogous, parametric), and bottom-up (stick, analytical, deterministic) methods.Software proficiency including RSMeans, Xactimate, ProEst, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.Superior verbal and written communication skills.Past supervisory or management experience helpful, but not mandatory.Professionalism and ability to handle details of a confidential nature.Time management, project management, and organizational abilitiesStrong critical-thinking and interpersonal skills.Must be able to travel.PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, and TRAVEL:Physical Demands - While performing this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to client sites or job sites.
