About the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead a team of SAP ERP Finance and controlling experts, assuring the right level of knowledge and skills and adequate capacity to support projects and enhancements design and realization.
Key responsibilities:
• Ensure effective use and assignment of team members to projects/enhancements and initiatives based on their availability and strengths, to achieve the maximum value to the organization. Provide mentoring, coaching, direction setting and Finance domain know-how to assure quality, compliant solutions are delivered
• Be accountable for the oversight and "safeguards" of proposed Finance Design solutions and initiatives across Novartis divisions including the planning and execution of functional reviews for project/enhancement and alignment of their outcome with key stakeholders
• Keep oversight on the overall CAB Enhancements budgets and actual spending and take appropriate measures in case of major deviations; Provide an update on status, risks, issues for the Enhancements portfolio to key stakeholders, such as strategic business partners
• Collaborate with the strategic business partner team to understand upcoming demand to be able to respond to the resources needs; ensure execution of fit-gap workshops for Finance domain, proposal of solutions for key gaps, providing of effort estimation for Demands / Enhancements / CAR preparations
• Own and drive Solution Design in the area of ERP Finance & Controlling through addressing all business requirements and opportunities while following Novartis architectural standards, quality, and information security principles; Ensure Solution Design adherence to defined Finance CORE Governance templates
• Organize and perform assessments of changes impacting financial functions in close collaboration with SBP function to assure stability of the systems for financial closings.
• Takes design decisions with short and medium term impact independently based on precedence and within guidelines generally available
• Ensure high level of standardization of Novartis ERP systems in the area of Finance, developing and maintaining tools and processes to collaborate with business and communicate the standards within the ERP community
• POC for escalations from projects/programs within the assigned area of responsibility. Collaborate closely with the External service providers to ensure delivery of improvements in time and quality and in an efficient way

Role Requirements
What you'll bring to the role:
• University degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Computer Sciences, MBA or similar
• Extent and demonstrable experience of ERP SAP in a multi-national company; Strong knowledge of SAP Finance business process analyses and design, concepts, compliance requirements, system architecture, technology standards
• Proven experience to present new concepts, project objectives, progress reporting, and facilitate review meetings with executive and senior audience while demonstrating strong business acumen; ability to collaborate across boundaries and managing competing priorities, interests and partners
• Demonstrable ability to drive global teams for highly effective and compliant solutions, leveraging multi-source staffing models including internal and external partners to optimize success of overall outcomes
• Superb communication skills, Fluent in English
